PCB Terminology
Here, you can get your head round common PCB Terminology.
Vias - Via stands for "Vertical Interconnect Access" which is a vertical electrical connection between different layers of conductors in printed circuit board design. Vias are pads with plated holes that provide electrical connections between copper traces on different layers of the board
Blind Via - is a via that is exposed on one side of the board only
Buried Vias - is a via that connects internal layers but is not exposed on either side of the board
Gerber Files - is a format that is used by PCB manufacturing machinery to layout electrical connect and give drilling and milling detail
NC Data
AOI - Automated Optical Inspection is a system used to automatically visually inspect the PCB for error or damage "Rule Checked"
CAM - Computer Aided Manufacture
Pulse Engine -
Side to Side Rectification -
Ciragraphics -
Co Light Exposure -
HASL - Hot Air Solder levelling is where the PCB is bathed in a solder bath and all exposed copper surfaces are covered with solder and the excess is removed by using hot air knives
Leaded - the use of solder containing lead
Lead Free - the use of solder not containing lead
Electroless Nickel plating -
Immersion Gold -
